Marksman Homes, your quality home builder, commenced trading on the 21st June 1967 and incorporated on the 12th June 1970. Since then, we have built thousands of homes, hundreds of home units, churches, schools and commercial premises.
Marksman Homes has maintained continuous service to the industry over this long period. We have learnt to adapt to changing lifestyles and customer preferences.
We attribute our success to the loyalty and efficiency of our highly qualified staff and long standing sub-contract tradesmen, many of whom have worked continually for the company since its inception.

Marksman Homes have implemented a Quality Management System to ensure projects are constructed according to Best Practice. We are a quality endorsed company accredited by SAI Global (Standards Australia) to comply with international standards ISO9001.
We were awarded the 1997 and 1998 HIA Boral Quality Builder of the Year for New South Wales and the 2004, 2005, 2010 and 2013 Professional Builder of the Year for New South Wales. We were 1998 and 1999 Finalists for the National Quality Builder of the Year and a National Finalist for the 2003, 2005, 2006, 2011 and 2013 Australian Professional Builder of the Year Award. Marksman has more than 200 house designs from which to choose. Our experienced sales team assist customers in selecting a design to suit their needs. We welcome changes to our designs, and in doing so, ensure each individual customer’s specific requirements are met. We build on a contract basis on either our customer’s land or on our land, such as our Blackbutt Woods Estate. We also custom design if required.
Marksman use passive solar architectural design principles. We attempt to site homes to maximise the sun’s energy and to optimise the energy efficiency of the house itself. Marksman Homes is registered with Wollongong City Council as having an understanding of the principles of Energy Efficient Design and have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) to undertake SEDA’s Energy Smart Home Builders initiative. Marksman is a NSW HIA GreenSmart Regional Partner with accredited GreenSmart Professionals on staff.
We are very sensitive to the impact our building has on the surrounding environment both during and after the construction process. We employ a number of control measures during work on the site such as noise, waste and sedimentation controls.
Our waste management policy includes a number of controls and checks to ensure the efficient collection and disposal of waste generated throughout the construction process. It is policy to provide our customer with a presentable site at all times. Marksman Homes are included in the Illawarra Waste Management’s Waste Exchange Directory. The directory is one method of encouraging the minimisation of materials, which might otherwise go to waste.
One of Marksman’s major strengths is our attention to detail. This is reflected in the well-documented plans, specifications, colour selection information and variations prepared prior to the commencement of construction. This detail of the customers requirements, together with our high emphasis on quality construction, provide a framework in which our Building Manager and his supervisors can control progress and ensure all elements are constructed according to best practice. All of our trades, from the surveyor through to the cleaner, subscribe to our quality management ideal and perform their work according to best practice. Quality assurance checks are completed by all trades and supervisors. Random checks are carried out by the Quality Manager. A Company Safety System has been implemented outlining our commitment and responsibility to WH&S of employees and sub-contractors. Marksman was a 2004 State finalist in the HIA’s Best Practice Award for WH&S.
